What is your bedtime ritual?
I go to my sacred space which happens to include my bed so I get there before my husband does.
I’m a thinker so it’s all about calming my brain. I let my brain run free for a few minutes while observing it. If I see something that is
“real” and needs my attention I notate it on my to do list. I acknowledge how I feel about the day overall then I whisper sweet
nothings in my own ear.

In the last 5 years, what new belief, behavior or habit has most improved your sleep?
Taking a break to sleep is not the same thing as “leaving things undone”. Giving myself permission to rest and get back at it when I wake means I don’t have to get everything under the sun done before I can sleep.
If you have had a particularly challenging day and your normal bedtime routine isn’t enough for you to fall asleep, what do you try next?
I try to get myself up out of the bed to do something that I dread doing and never seem to find the time to do. This usually causes me to conveniently get tired and super sleepy, amazing how the mind works. If that doesn’t work I take melatonin.
