Connecting to the community – Curt’s Cafe

FullSizeRender (1)One key part of your health is your connection to your community. And one way to connect with your community is to get involved and give back. Each Saturday, we feature different ways members of the Northshore Acupuncture Center community are rolling up their sleeves and giving back. This week we are featuring Curt’s Café.

Curt’s Café trains at risk  young people on job and life skills. Since they opened I 2012, they have served nearly 175 students. In 2016, they served 56 new students along with working with their graduates. They have placed close to 20 in jobs, enrolled 3 in community college classes, and secured safe housing for most students.

Consider making a 2016 tax deductible donation. Here are some year-end strategies for charitable giving from Fidelity. A gift of $5,000 will support one student through the program, but gifts of any size make a difference.curts

Curt’s has two locations at 2922 Central St and 1813 Dempster St in Evanston which are great for networking meetings and your morning coffee. Instead of giving your money to fund multiple summer homes for coffee giant CEOs, why not invest in the future of the youth in our community?

Attend our Rock Your Resolutions – New Year, Healthier You event on January 8th. There is no fee for attending, but we will be collecting donations for Curt’s.

And remember if you bring in a receipt from Curt’s dated within 5 days of your appointment, you get $10 off your treatment. Get a free ongoing acupuncture treatment with a catering receipt greater than $75 from Curt’s dated within two weeks of your appointment. One offer per client.
