Connecting to the Community – Lisa

jers-lisaOne key part of your health is your connection to your community. And one way to connect with your community is to get involved and give back. Each Saturday, we feature different ways members of the Northshore Acupuncture Center community are rolling up their sleeves and giving back.

This week we are featuring Lisa’s involvement with Canine Therapy Corps

Canine Therapy Corps’ volunteers and certified therapy dogs serve the Chicago metropolitan area, working with health care, education, and social services professionals and helping people recover from physical and emotional trauma.

Interested in getting involved? If you have a dog who is child-friendly, respectful, reliable and under verbal control and you have time to volunteer once a week, complete the online volunteer application.

If you don’t have a qualified dog, but still want to help, assistance is needed with certification tests, fundraising, and administrative support. Please complete the volunteer application and indicate what your special talents and interests are. Donations are appreciated as well.

Finally their Black & White Gala benefit to raise money and awareness is coming up February 25th.  Get your tickets now or sign up to participate in the auction if you are unable to attend.
