Cookies for Community (Fridges)

One of my favorite holiday traditions is delivering cookies to neighbors.

Join me for the fourth annual Cookies for Community! Let’s fill the Evanston Community Fridges* with baking ingredients so our neighbors can create their own holiday memories – baking with their families.

*This year, in addition to filling the fridges, we will be partnering with Sanctuary Evanston and Sanctuary Niles Township to deliver baking ingredients to neighbors who are vulnerable to ICE’s acts of terror. If you would like to have ingredients delivered to your home, please fill out the Sanctuary Evanston mutual aid form if you live in Evanston or the Sanctuary Niles Township mutual aid form if you live in Lincolnwood, Morton Grove, Niles or Skokie.

There are a few ways to participate.

1) Drop Off: Bring unopened non-perishable baking ingredients to one of the drop off locations listed below between Monday 12/1 through Monday, 12/15. We’ll distribute them to the community fridges and to Sanctuary Evanston & Sanctuary Niles Township mutual aid teams, enabling neighbors to share special moments baking with their loved ones 💕. Consider buying packaged gluten free, nut free or vegan treats for our neighbors with special dietary needs. Note: we will purchase eggs and butter with donated funds.

2) Donate: Send funds via Venmo @Amy-Landolt-4, PayPal @AmyLandolt or CashApp $AmyGillespieLandolt and I’ll purchase baking supplies on your behalf.  You can also contribute directly to the Evanston Community Fridge fund.

3) Organization Participation: Reach out if your business, church, synagogue or organization would like to serve as a drop-off location for non-perishable baking ingredient donations.

Thanks for making the holidays a little sweeter for our neighbors.
