One key part of your health is your connection to your community. And one way to connect with your community is to get involved and give back. Each Saturday, we feature different ways members of the Northshore Acupuncture Center community are rolling up their sleeves and giving back.
This week we are featuring Cindy’s work with the Village Treasure House and the Oakton Community College’s English As A Second Language (ESL) program.
Cindy has volunteeried at the Village Treasure House, a unique, not-for-profit furniture and home furnishings consignment shop in Northbrook that supports 17 local agencies. The Village Treasure House is looking for consignments, donations, and volunteers.
Cindy currently provides tutoring support for several participants in the Oakton Community College’s ESL program. They meet on a weekly basis to practice conversing in English. The next training session for volunteers starts in September.
