Intro: Northshore Acupuncture Tribe of Mentors – Sleep Edition

Getting a good night’s sleep is critical for good health. Many experts now recognize sleep as being as important for good health (if not more) as nutrition and movement. So many things factor into whether or not we get high quality sleep – our emotional and spiritual health; what we consume – food, drinks, substances, music, news, social media; our lifestyle and daily habits; our physical health; our sleep environment.

I have made several Facebook videos and posts with actions you can take to impact the 5 pillars of sleep from my Get Some Shut Eye method: 1) mindset about sleep, 2) daytime choices, 3) bedtime routine, 4) stress management and 5) sleep environment. Those suggestions were developed based on what has worked for my clients. I wanted to take that a step further, and share with you what works for other health experts.

I reached out to my network, and asked them to respond to question #1, and two questions from #2-5.

1) What is your bedtime ritual?
2) What do you do during the day that has the biggest impact (positive or negative) on your sleep?
3) In the last 5 years, what new belief, behavior or habit has most improved your sleep?
4) If you have had a particularly challenging day and your normal bedtime routine isn’t enough for you to fall asleep, what do you try next?
5) What purchase of $100 or less has improved your sleep the most?

Their responses have been posted individually in this category under Blogs. My hope is that you will develop a bedtime ritual and sleep habits that maximize your sleep from picking and choosing from their tips. Sweet dreams!!
